This old upright has a pretty neat fix to cracked treble bridge pins. They simply moved the pins back away from the cracks and filled them in with some wood putty. No one is the wiser. The treble sounds as good as ever. I’ll have to remember this trick.

It took hours to replace these broken elbows on this spinet upright piano. My back was burning in the end. They did not cooperate. I persevered in the end.

This is a 7’6″ Schimmel Grand piano is such a pleasure to tune and play. I noticed hammer #1 is coming undone. Renner hammers are very high end and I was very surprised to see this. Not an easy fix!

I have tuned a few Falcone pianos in the past. This one has the magic like no other one I have played. This customer is very lucky to have this. It is the kind of piano you do not want to get up from. At 7’6″ the bass rumbles like a cannon!

Normally we tuners measure pitch by “A”. Concert pitch is “A440”. That is the frequency of concert pitch. The Crown piano measures pitch by “C 517.3” which comes out to be somewhere around A438ish. I wonder why they did this??

Tuned this 1920’s Schumann grand piano. It has original gold strings. Ive never seen this before. I guess thats is what they thought separated them from other pianos. Not a bad sounding old piano.
