What a hack job . .

I had to pull the action on a very nicely refinished Steinway grand. My jaw dropped after seeing the pin block. This is by far the worst job I have ever seen on installing a new pin block. It is cut in two pieces and hacked away to make it fit. I did not have the heart to tell the customer (who had spent thousands on a rebuild) how bad a job this is. They didn’t bother to mortise in the ends of the block to the frame or at least tightly but it up against it. I DON’T KNOW HOW SOME PEOPLE SLEEP AT NIGHT. I did find out who did this work but I’ll keep it to myself.
